grayson highlands state park
One of our favorite parks to date. The trails were perfect, views were incredible and best of all there are wild ponies!! The ponies are scattered all over the mountain side, about a 1/4 way into your hike. The dozen we saw we all hanging with their buddies, so look out for herds.
shenandoah national park
Beautiful park stretched along the Blue Ridge Mountains. Definitely strap in and take the drive through the park on the Skyline Drive! Tons of wild life and hikes to conquer! It was literally 100 degrees when we were there, so it made for a sweaty memorable experience!
Give your mouth a taste of heaven, it deserves it! If you’re in an RV, good luck with the parking situation. The combinations of donut flavors are impressive.

Hike to the summit of Virginia. A hike that is worth every inch of it's 9+ miles in distance. If you're lucky, you'll be able to cross paths with some AT hikers which make for good conversation. At the top, be sure to go a bit deeper into the woods to find the summit marker!
rip rap trail
- shenandoah np
Very moderate 9.8 mile trail. It was completely desserted, probably due to the heat wave. Pack a bag and take the challenge head on.
