sault ste marie

Must stop spot in the UP. Small town with a lot of history and things to explore. Watching the freighters come in and out of the locks was an experience in itself. Soo Brewing had great beer and fun games for customers. All adventurers should stop into Superior Coffee! Crazy outfitter/coffee house with a lot to offer.

mackinaw bridge

We timed our visit up accordingly and was able to participate in the annual bridge walk on Labor Day. Very cool experience seeing as this is the only day out of the year where you’re able to walk on the bridge, nonetheless – it’s the world’s longest suspension bridge, so that in itself makes it worth the drive across!

A great little artisan brewery with superb food + drink. There are various locations in Michigan.

harmony hall

- grand rapids

Stopped in GR for some great beer and fulfilled our Bingo fix. Was able to win a free pizza, so made it well worth the stop into Harmony Hall!

buddy's pizza

Ever wonder what Detroit Style pizza was? Don’t settle for anything but the OG. Delicious AND square-style.

mackinac island

Not our first time to the island and certainly won't be our last. So fun to step back in time where there are no motorized vehicles. Be sure to bring your bikes across on the ferry and bike the loop around the island. First timers, do the carriage rides and consume as much fudge as possible.

st. ignace

Small UP town on the other side of the Mackinaw Bridge. There was a good Harvest Host option within 10 miles of crossing over, but we didn’t end up staying. Host seemed very friendly and accommodating. Kewadin Casino was a great spot for boondocking/RV hook-up’s. Several spots for rigs of all sizes. Be sure to check out Castle Rock!

"the big house"

- ann arbor

Big House will live up to the hype – especially if you’re able to take in a game. We were able to sneak in as the gates were ajar.

journeyman distillery

- three oaks

Great tucked away distillery – grab one of their flights! And maybe even a skillet cookie to compliment it!

new buffalo

Endless things to do. Must hits in the food + drink dept: Bentwood Tavern (brunch) , Brewster Italian, Stray Dog, David’s Deli, Church Brewing - cool new spot for a beer near their fire place outback!

Headlands International Dark Sky Park

- Mackinaw City

Very unique experience! One of the only International Dark Skys in the US. We arrived late and boondocked in their parking lot with zero issues! Be sure to leave the phones and lights in the rig - no lights allowed!

mackinaw city

A touristy town but worth exploring if you are heading over to the island. Take a stroll down Central Ave. and pop into the Mackinaw Crossings for inexpensive apparel.

escanaba

Unexpectedly caught one of the prettiest sunsets of the trip! A lot of litte mom and pop greasy spoon spots in town. Spent an active day at the Ludington Park area where there’s all sorts of things to do.
